In the year 2014 the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (S.P.N.I) urged Haifa’s Municipality to submit a request for funding of a new master plan for nature preservation, with the focus on the unique wadis topography in Haifa. The actual planning began in the year 2016, after the company Miller Blum Environmental Planning Ltd. won the public tender. Yarok Balev NGO is an active member in the Wadis Master Plan Steering Committee. Our NGO’s recommendations for nature preservation and for Eco-tourism development were immediately adopted by the planners, and we push forward the public dialogue regarding the plan.
